Ugh. One of my girlfriends is right into Oprah. Now I know where she is getting all her bizarre beliefs from.

IMHO Oprah Winfrey is proof of the adage (if I get it right) – “power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely”. She has that absolute power. There is no denying her background, but on her climb to the top, the word “humility” appears to have been lost.

Her god is the Golden Calf and the almighty dollar. She is leading hapless souls into perdition. Thinking herself to be wise she was made a fool and she’s obviously never read the passage where Jesus Christ (and I mention this since she claims to be a “christian”) said “I am the way, the truth and the life” and the end of Matthew 7 where he said “Not everyone who says ‘Lord, Lord’ unto me shall enter the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father.” She’s obviously never read the writings of the early Church Fathers either if she thinks God is “in a box.”

An early Church Father (I forget who) said, “There are no new heresies: there are only the same ones reappearing over and over again.” Thank God for Jimmy Kimmel (sloughing off his wife notwithstanding) for taking her to task.

Hi there. I just wanted to say, while I don’t believe in everything she’s saying, I do in my heart feel that she is trying to do what she thinks is right, and the Lord honors that. And, if all things that are good are of God, then some of what she does is of God too. She’s trying to bring more love and goodness into the world and I’m proud of her for that.

Whenever I point out the hooey stuff on Oprah, I am almost always countered with:

“She’s so successful… so smart… such a great business woman… she’s helped so many people…”

I actually like Oprah just fine. But, I don’t think she really has it all together. No matter what her “success” she’s always grasping at the New Age as if it holds the key to peace and happiness.

She has “overcome” a horendous childhood. But, so many others have also. I am much much more impressed with Chris Gardner’s success story. (The Pursuit of Happyness) Many have been real successes at life, having and nurturing families, being great at the workplace and business and helping those less fortunate. Maybe not on the Oprah scale, but they’re not leading “little ones astray”.

like the Bible says its easier to put a camel thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven . doesn’t say it can’t be done just very very very hard . oprah by luck has had some good shows over the years but she should have ended the show long ago after covering ever topic on earth . shes racist too i heard her laughing on her radio show about having white servants in her home . she will end up like howard hughes a lonely ugly freaked out billionaire . her school in africa is to brain wash and her tv show also . shes a closet homo and a infected with demons but paints on a pretty face that hides it . if Jesus was on her show and she ask what must i do to get to heaven Lord and he said give away everything you have and follow me . i can answer for her … i can’t do it i’ll find another way …. and shes buying a stairway to heaven
