Came across this post today, in regards to one of the Democratic nominees for President.
I was thrilled to hear that Loretta Weinberg was joining Steve Rothman in supporting Barack Obama’s bid for Democratic nominee for President. For me, Obama has the combination of strengths that I’m looking for right now. I agree with his positions on the issues that are important to me: the war, healthcare, nuclear disarmament and the environment. I also think he offers a fresh outlook and he communicates a sense that liberal values are quintessential American values. I view myself as a patriotic person, but the constant drumbeat of attacks on liberalism for the past few decades have left me feeling marginalized. I really believe that America can be a great nation again - but we have to move in an entirely different direction than we’re currently heading. Obama best embodies what I think America needs. Are “liberal” people what this country really needs?
Liberal:
- lacking moral restraint;
- not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or traditional forms
- of, favoring, or based upon the principles of liberalism (a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties)

entertainment tax- taxes you will have to pay for going to the movies, zoo, science center, exct. (if the mayor is re-elected) vehicle registration tax, even more..
gay marriages.. country completely morally bankrupt…
umm let’s see…. what else? oh i know! rampant drug problems in our city… rental crisis… working poor having to go to the food bank.. homeless families…. hmmm.. what else? pot smokers everywhere.. crack addicts asking you for money when you have your car window slightly rolled down and your at a red light at the intersection.. completely unsafe city.. gang violence.. long waiting in the emergency room.. 15 hours exct…
what’s the bonus? cold weather, beautiful country, and guess what? one can move out to the country when they have enough money!!!
None of the people running really give abean about the teaching of our Faith, and I doubt that any of them are familiar with Catholic social Teaching.
But I’d kinda like to see Thompson as president, because he’s, blunt, snarky and politically incorrect.
Then again, I’d kinda like to see anyone who wasn’t gonna be business as usuall and who had no repect for special interests.
Hey have you looked at Ron Paul. If you haven’t go to:

Not many people know about him and so they think the main players they see are the only hope for this country.
